Time to go to Winterspring

Winterspring. I fell in love with the place the first time I saw it. I remember the painful levelling of my reputation to be let through the tunnel. And I remember how happy I became when I reached the other side and saw the beautiful crisp snow that waited on the other side, a sharp contrast to the green and rather gloomy Felwood.

When I was told to leave the area to go to Hellfire and kill boars in the red desert, because it would give me better gear, I only went reluctantly. (And honestly I don’t know if it was the right decision, considering how much I died from those pigs.)

I’ve always preferred the winter landscapes in WoW to the deserts and forests. I don’t know why, but I guess that they remind me of my innocent childhood, my first stumbling steps as a young gnome in Dun Morogh.

If you go to real life, this winter has been one of the longest I’ve seen in several years. There was still some snow on the ground last week. But now spring has arrived with full power. However, I’ve decided to enjoy winter a little bit longer, at the time of the year when it is at its best. So now I’m going north, to the Swedish mountains, for a few days of downhill skiing in the warming April sun. That is what I would call Winterspring!

For the first time since last summer, I won’t be online in any way. No WoW, no blogging, no forum reading, I won’t even read e-mails. And the cell phone won’t help me since I refuse to twitter.

The inn will be open – I’ve prewritten a couple of posts. Nothing fancy really, but something to munch on while I’m gone. So sit down by the fire and enjoy yourselves.

I won’t be able to reply if you make any comments this week or comment myself on other blogs, but please, reply to each other if you feel like it! I'll catch up when I'm back.

See you soon again!

I dont like skiing, first time i went is my last- i did'nt know i was scared of hieghts until i was at the top of the mountain, so the experience from top to bottom totally ruined it for me, and scarred my memorys.

but back to winterspring! glad you see it that why :) enjoy the mountains, will bei ntresting how you go with no internet, i also feel isolated and alone...even on holiday....

You and your mountains....

Have a great time... I am thinking of taking a few days off too...

Maybe even without scheduled posts... hell, Zupa is doing 4 posts a day at the moment trying to catch up, we might as well kick back

Bah skiing!

In time you will 'waste' on skiing you could grind Frostsaber Trainers reputation in REAL Winterspring, you know?:-)

And seriously, enjoy your holiday, I long for being cut of Internet for a week or two - sadly no holidays for me this year. Also, I would rather go to Jaguero Isle than Winterspring, but that's personal preference I guess:D

Maybe it's springtime in your end of the world... but this part of the world, the white stuff made a strong comeback. I like snow, I really do, but sometimes I need a little warmth in my life.

Especially if I want to do a road test...

Well, I agree with James (of James guide). Waiting to go to outland/northrend at lvl 60-70 pays or more. Then you also finish the entire zone and won't have any quests that you can't do in that zone. It'll all go easier and faster too at that level. The bits of extra gear or extra XP don't make up for it.

I too enjoy the winter landscapes of WoW much more than the other areas.

Have fun!! We'll be here when you get back :) It's nice to take a break from the game every once in a while.

I thought it was Spring (Finally) up here in the Frozen North, but yesterday the snow decided to come back again to make us all miserable...

@Kromus: I’m actually a bit of a coward when it comes to downhill skiing. I won’t go for the steepest ones with a black label on them. And I had never ever tried downhill skiing until I was almost 20, thinking it seemed an insane, dangerous thing to do. When I actually tried it I changed my mind. The experience blew me off completely… Sometimes it’s really nice to find out that you were totally wrong! But yeah, in spite of my love for mountains and trekking I’m quite scared of heights too!

@Gnomeaggedon: yep, it’s nice to see that Zupa is back in business. Time for us to get a well deserved slacking period!

@ Klepsacovic: Didn’t see any! Well there were a few causing me a blizzard the first day, but focusing on keeping spirits up we managed to fight them off and finally the sun shine flooded.

@Renald: filled with sunshine and energy I’m ready to start the grind of the winterspring tiger… I think. I swear: one day I’ll get it!

@Merchant of Pain: ah well… enjoy it! Summer really isn’t the same when you haven’t had a real winter before!

@Cassini: well, I came back to find that the gold spammers had tried to have some fun here while I was gone. However I had an assistant to help me out, who kept an eye at the inn. I’m a lucky innkeeper to have that!

@Carra: I think you’re right – especially if you’re a squishy sort of class. I’ll sincerely consider staying longer in Wintersrping next time I’ll level a character.

@Eildlhe: well, I’m back now! Happy and with a lot of rested points… It will be fun to return.

@Dw-redux: oh, help yourself! Oh… wait I’m back… but still asleep after the trip…

@Drazmor: noo… not miserable! White, bright and happy. At least the snow will keep the darkness away!
